It is possible to do so under the constitution (but for NO REASON can a president exceed a term of 10 years). In this day and age Bush wouldn't be able ot do it. He is stupid enough to try though!

This whole war president thing is really wearing thin.... I can not understand how people are not seeing through this. Our civil liberties are being stripped away, to allow these fools to continue their baseless witch-hunt with our hard-earned tax money.
Even if he manages to convince the public of the importance of the wars he initiated, the guy is 0 and 3 ..... at least bring in leadership that can provide for more competent military solutions:
Fiasco I: Five years after Bush ordered Afghanistan invaded and proclaimed "total victory," U.S. and allied forces are fighting a losing war against Afghan resistance groups. Afghan heroin exports are up 90%. The U.S. just quietly deployed thousands more troops to Afghanistan to hunt Osama bin Laden and Ayman al-Zawahiri in a desperate attempt to save Republicans from getting clobbered in November midterm elections.
Fiasco II: "Mission accomplished" in Iraq. Bush's war in Iraq is clearly lost, but few dare admit it. The U.S. has spent $300 billion on Afghanistan and Iraq, with nothing to show but bloody chaos, deficits, body bags, and growing hatred of America. The Bush/Dick Cheney "liberation" of Iraq has now cost more than the Vietnam War.
Fiasco III: Bush and Vice President Cheney egged Israel into the hugely destructive but militarily fruitless war in Lebanon over the past month, in what many view as the first part of their long-nurtured plan to militarily crush Hezbollah, Syria and Iran. They did there best to thwart world efforts to halt the conflict.
Even as a "war" president has failed to deliver on what he preaches: Americans are less safe in the world today then they were before September 11; and this fool and the clowns around him are polarizing the world with Islamophbia.

The constitution provides for the fixed term of the president. Extension in office is not allowed unless there is a change of constitution allowing another tenure of office for which Bush could qualify again.

No, he won't. The public reaction would be quite amazing, actually. Also, whatever all of the teenagers of this country seem to think, he's actually not a power-hungry, war-mongering guy. He has an agenda that he's trying to meet with, and it's that agenda that had people re-elect him. Also, it's not like he sprung the conflict in Iraq on us the second term. It was already well underway, and people voted for him with full knowledge of that.

Im pretty sure there is no way to do this without facing serious repercussions. the only reason he has not been impeached is due to the laziness and complacency of most americans. Im thinkin' that too many people (even republicans who are embarrased by him) would fight that. IM HOPING. The thought is chilling.

I for one do not think any thing is an impossibility
when it comes to this president.
Why should you tell him to grow up ,he has just as much right as you do to ask a question,if you don't like the question don't answer it,but don't shoot the messenger because you don't like the message.
You know republicans have thought about this same question.
