Yes, it does, but the process is fast and not unbearable. Just like pierced ears, the skin around the pierce will remain red and sore for a couple of weeks. You just have to remember to keep it clean with rubbing alcohol etc. so it does not get infected and eventually it heals and you will forget all about that it hurt.

umm...the first few weeks it's gonnahurt a lil' ..ma frien had one @ 8th grade n it wuss cool douh but she said it hurted a lil b4..

When I had my belly button pierced it felt like a small pinch, like a pinch you get when the dentist gives you Novocaine. Unfortunately the artist didn't warn me that you are supposed to have a ring the first few days instead of a stud. The piercing began to stretch and the ball of the stud began to get sucked into the hole. Then it got infected, so now I have a fairly big scar above my belly button. But to answer your question, it's not bad at all. ^-^

It never hurt me becasue I had it frozen when it was pierced and the only time it hurt after that was when I was cleaning it (it stung like hell) and when I caught it on my skirt. Ask for you belly button to be frozen first.

most of what hurts is the little clamp thingy. it clamps your skin together to get the skin for the needle to go through, it kind of pinches. but the actual piercing doesnt hurt if youre not thinking about it

the actual piercing did not hurt...when they use the tongs to pull your skin...that is what was uncomfortable, but I wouldn't say it was painful. It only takes a few minutes for them to do it. Go for it! It will look really cute!

Sticking an object through your body is always going to hurt. And then you have to deal with the infection.

Not at first because they use anaestetic, but it really hurts afterwards and can easily become infected. You have to go to the doctors if it becomes infected as it can lead to blood poisoning and you can die from it so take care
