Its awful.....kids are growing up wwaaayyyyyy to fast these days, partly in thanks to the media. The other blame should be placed on parents who allow their kids to grow up too fast. It makes a world of difference. They need a church to join......for many reasons.
LOL...ariel......your full of it. Why do you take your kids to the OBGYN every year??????? Isnt that saying "now dear, sex is wrong, but im gonna take you to the GYNO just to ensure that you have safe sex.........lmao......parents like that piss me off. Its the reason our kids are faced with so much these days....they feel like they have to fit in with the sleezy kids.

Its like all the bootie queens are having a contest about how little clothing they can wear while belting out a song about "pumping me" or some such other crap. Yes, sex is a fun thing, and young women are just discovering their power, but the responsibility they ought to have to those younger than them seems to have gone out the window, but the truth is, there were always these things on TV. There is an "off" button, and you can always sternly say: "Turn that idiot box off NOW! There are dishes to do and rooms to clean! Get at it!" *stomp stomp stomp* (Ahhh, it's Momzilla! Everyone scatter!) As for Madonna, I think she's a lost cause. She's so full of contradictions if I saw her on the street, I'd go walk on the other side. She's an idiot.

OK, when I was a kid (I am now age 54), I use to go to the theater and see James Bond movies. I watched a guy in a nice suit shoot and kill a lot of people. No, I did not go out and buy a gun and copy what he did because I knew IT WAS A MOVIE. Our kids today are even smarter. They know all that suggestive dancing, etc. is just that - ENTERTAINMENT. It does suprise me to hear 12-year-old girls ask who Betty Page was (even before MY TIME), but it is nothing more than wanting to know more about our crazy world.
Kids are not stupid. And most have a good sense of the world.
Stop worrying. When our kids grow up - THEIR kids will watch bands on tv with singers and dancers that are completely NUDE! on family channel tv shows.
And guess what? NO ONE WILL CARE!!

You know what -- I agree with you. I am not a prude, by far, but I think there are a lot of parents not paying attention to what their kids are seeing. I work in a school and on the first day I had third grade student showing up in a little school girl outfit like Britney Spears -- high little boots and belly showing. You know that little girl thought she was so cute because of what she had seen on tv and the big girls wearing. The real shame is an adult had to buy it for her. Another little girl was wearing a sparkly shirt with the Playboy emblem across it. If this is the new norm, I hate where we are headed.

I gave up counting on Hollywood for morals a LONG time ago.. I watch what my kids watch, keep control of the computer, and say a prayer every time they leave the house. Music I can't control by the time they are teens, but I do agree with you, filth seems to be the norm. To my 16 year old's credit, she thinks that song is "total crap", and tunes out a lot of the nasty stuff, so the early training by mom must have stuck a little!
We moved to the country to raise our kids, at least the big city stuff is at a distance. Much safer for them and us.

I agree with you. I was shocked about Madonna, too and I love her. She said there's nothing on TV but trash...this from a woman who rolled around on a stage in a wedding dress singing "Like a Virgin." Of course, I realize that she was a lot younger then, but still.... Parents' values have definitely changed and not for the better. Just think what things will be like 20 years from now!

We took tv out of our home six years ago - it was a bit of an adjustment for all of us - but it was the greatest thing we did as a family - because we discovered - we're a family - not tv robotons who have our whole lives planned around a tv guide. It was horrible and I yelled at the lying news media and my son was as obnoxious as the cartoons he watched and my husband couldn't just watch one movie, he had to watch one and tape two - it just wasn't worth it. And more and more we hear of those who've made their money on "us" the consumers - not allowing their children the exposure - that should be about as loud a message as we need!

I'm 14, and I agree with you. I don't think TV should be banned, but I'm disgusted by the amount of smut on the radios these days. I'm also appalled that the word "gun" is bleeped out of the song "unfaithful" (Rhianna), but then there's all these piece of crap rap songs talking about oral and anal sex! I mean, excuse me, but there's 8 year olds listening to your music, and they shouldn't exactly know about that for a while! They're portraying a bad image for kids my age. I remember about 3 years ago, I was watching Nickelodeon at 7:30 pm and a commercial about the show "Stripperella" came on! I mean, thank you Nick for showing me animated soft-core porn at age 11! This isn't OK. Thank you for showing your concern! =)

I agree with you. But you have a choice of child lock/channel lock/and other feature built-in and must start using these judiciously. Also, some of the channels can altogether be eliminated from the provider source itself. Moreover, children know to operate computer than the adults and they will teach you how to avoid seeing such stuff !!! I gave up and advised my kids to judiciously use the computer and the t.v. and luckily for me they do have the sense of self censorhip. But animal planet showing animal screwing is altogether another matter !!!

My aunt wanted to throw my niece her 17th B-Day party and have grown up there to handel the kids....would you believe she refused because she said..."They wont approve of our dancing""" What the hell was she meaning...then i saw it for my self...i wanted to kick her little azz....just so bad....to let you know just how bad it is...the movie.... Mr.Carter theone with Samuel l jackson....when Ashanti got pregunant....a heard a young girl talking to my niece that she was pregunant and that in the movie Ashanti had her mind set and she would do the same as her...and when she got pregunant was after the movie...and when her boyfriend stated he wasn't cool with not using a condom...she told him...she be able to take care of it...even if he doesn't want too....then she told him...Ashanti is so cool...she has her stuff together.....i don't know...there are so many young girls dressing trashy and giving in to these young boys because of music...plus all the little teen shoes most of the girls on there get pergunant before the end...and for some rrason it always works out....it has to do with all that money the goverment is bringing in...they do nothing about it....

thats messed up. Promiscuous on TEEN choice awards? thats a skanky song. i personally would never want to go to the club just because i dont know where the women have been. Anyways kids idolize mainstream music and it is getting too obscene. They need to keep that out of childrens heads, unless they plan to kill us all with STDs in twenty years
