W....worst ever.

Domestically, he's taken every position possible to destroy the middle class, from tax breaks for the rich to amnesty for illegal immigrants. In domestic security, he got a big gold star for post-9/11 rhetoric, but has since loaded so many important positions with incompetent cronies, he can't possibly be considered anything but a failure. Worldwide, terrorism has grown exponentially under his incompetent watch, American standing, even with our allies, is lower than anytime EVER, and China owns us due to the massive national debt. Politically, he's probably going to preside over the biggest Republican defeat EVER this November, and he's caused irrepairable damage to the Presidency by claiming powers he's not entitled to, ignoring laws he doesnt like and drifting into such paranoia and secrecy he makes Nixon look like a ray of sunshine.

Personally, I think he should be dragged out into the street and horsewhipped.

It will depend largely on whether the next great economic depression can be directly attributed to it or whether the Democrats will have been in power for some time and therefore share part of the blame.
The first Bush administration was responsible for the first Gulf war and everything that stemmed from it: 9/11, 7/7, the second Gulf war and the vast majority of terrorists that have been created unnecessarily.

Strategically he will be evaluated as very good.

Response to terrorism. This part of the Bush Doctrine will be his enduring legacy. The chage from a defensive to an offensive posture with regard to terrorism was the defining moment of his presidency.
Tax Cuts.
Alliance with India
Immigration Reform (He was talking about this issue before anyone else on the national stage.)
Iraq..The war was conducted brilliantly.
Tort Reform
Pension Reform
Personally, I think that he is where the country will wind up on Gay Marriage. He supports civil unions for same sex couples while affirming marriage as one man/one woman.

Tactically or managerially he will be evaluated as slightly below or below average.

Katrina
Iraq reconstruction
Budget Deficits
Intelligence community

He has vision. He has guts. He just gets hung up on the details.

I think it will be much like all of the other administrations. Only a few things will be remembered, and the rest of it will be forgotten. Tell me, how much do you know from history about Frankin Pierce's administration?

As to what slant will be put on those few things that will be remembered, that won't be decided for a while. My personal guess is that it will be negative, mainly because of our current international relationships as a result of some actions made by the administration.

Only time will tell.

As a very able leader, able to make non popular decisions and stick to them!
Someone who inherited Clintons mistakes, a terrorist hit that cost 1,000"s lives. Someone who finally did something about it, even if it did not raise his status in the polls.
So far , we have had no more hits on American soil.
Someone who was on top of the fact , more planes were targeted to be destroyed and to destroy people and more property!

This current administration will be a laughing stock in history ~ albeit a sad one. In one hand we could laugh our asses off at how transparently stupid this president is, and in the other, we can hang our heads in shame. How he got to be president is the hardest stretch of all.
