hi, we are in our senior year at a certain university. we are really having a hard time choosing what topic to pursue. We are planning to discard our present topic, speech-to-text feature for Nokia Seies 60 phones given what happened to the launching of Windows Vista's speech to text feature that went CRAP. Oh well, we are interested in making a thesis that involves Web 2.0 or anything related to web. anny suggestions? Links will also be greatly appreciated.

This is actually the perfect time to do your thesis on web 2.0 with particular focus on AJAX's impact on the current web information model. I know for a fact that there are tons of articles and blogs discussing how AJAX is revolutionizing the web and ushering in the term "Web 2.0" with companies like Google, Yahoo, and Microsoft leading the way.

To explore this area further and determine if this field is large enough to support an indepth thesis you can do a search on the following terms....

1) Ajax
2) Application Programming Interface (API)
3) Web 2.0 (DOM, DHTML, Javascript)
4) Content Driven Sites
5) Website Interaction
6) XML (most ajax and apis deal in xml content)

Prime examples of this new philosophy is:

1) Everything Google (especially maps and finance)
2) Blogging (Blogger.com in particular)
3) Mark Evans Blog where he talks a lot about Web 2.0 and its impact on markets and business. Talks a lot of tech as well.
4) Youtube.com

I have a few links you can follow too...

would not the point of the kiosk be to per chance stay away from needing a computer? per chance hook up a printer to a usb gadget with a small lcd style reveal that you software to settle for enter from usb drives, study be conscious clinical medical doctors, enable the person pick the rfile to print, and deliver it to the printer. no longer positive about the practicality of this theory even with the undeniable fact that. yet small linux distros may also help.
