Is there a way to split the soundtrack from an avi file?

I need to save the soundtrack of an avi video file as a seperate file. Is this possible and if it is how can I do it? Thanks!

i believe you can separate sound via adobe premier. if you don't have premier, you can save a clip in windows movie maker as a .wav file, and it will be audio only. you'll have to tinker around a bit, but i know it can be done.
