I think that if the world carries on the way it's going, with people starving, fighting meaningless wars, terrorists blowing everybody up, small children be made orphans through aids and we humans robbing this world of all it's natural resources, I am of the opinion that the end of world will be a blessed release.

But then I think that we are a resilient lot and we were put on earth to help those who are less fortunate. And whatever we do the end will happen some moment in time... It's all in the lap of the gods. The last day could be any day and we will all be going about our everyday business and not know much about it anyway.

So lets enjoy each day as it comes as it could be our last!

How do you think the last day in the world will be?
What do you think the last day in the world will be like?

Philosophy is one of the oldest and subtlest sciences in the world and it depends utterly on being able to ask an even an ambiguous question unambiguously!

If we are wiped out in the near future by misusing the Earth or by an extinction event, it will be pretty nasty; if it's a case of the sun running out of fuel we have plenty of time to think about and prepare for it - about 5 billion years. I imagine some pretty god-like beings will throw a hell of a party to say farewell.

The sun will, however, at this point have become a red giant, its mass is too small to create a black hole; time to re-read Hawking, Hawkings is somebody else, or nobody.

According to Stephen Hawkings, the last day in the world will be the Big Crush (opposite to the world's origin or Big Bang).

It will be a moment when all energy stops it's expansion, and turns back to concentrate in a nucleus, as it was before in the beginning of the Universe. So I suppose it will look very dark!

I think it will be beautiful in the same way that it is beautiful for your child to get married, beautiful yet sad. There will be no more earth as we know it, but if you believe the Bible a new heaven and earth will be created and this time there won't be the sorrow and sadness or anything like what we have known.

The earth will be recreated in beauty and restored to what it was supposed to be before we destroyed it little by little each day.

The same as every other day. You still wouldn't get what you want. Say you knew it was the last day, you would go looking for that one thing you really wanted to do or that one contact you wanted to make. The likelyhood of success, nill. Say you didn't know, you would just go about your business like every other day and still just never know. When the end came you would be left with a whole load of "ah man, I should've....." Either way, you still wouldn't get that last satisfaction. Last day on earth, just another one of them days.

How far in advance do you know? If you don't know if it is the last day it will be like today, because everyday is potentially the last day of the world. Carpe Diem, seize the day.

If we knew it was that last day: I think many athiests would make peace with God. George Bush would continue to think that he is God, (he'd probably nuke the world). The bad would hurt whoever they hated. And the good would love who ever they loved.
Me, personally, I would sit with my wife and hold her and tell her how much I love her. We would visit her mom and dad and brother and sisters and her son. We'd cry for our grand daughter. We'd pray and we'd laugh and we'd cry. We'd promise eachother eternal love, and we would go in peace in eachothers arms. Do you know something we don't?

Death is sure for everyone.
This certainly makes us to perceive that there will be an end for everything. That includes even the earth.
Will there be a last day for earth?
