maybe, maybe not. you can lose your mucus plug weeks before it's actually time. it has a tendency to regenerate if you don't deliver

Losing your mucus plug does not necessarily mean you are in labor. This can occur up to two weeks before labor begins. This can also occur right as labor is beginning.
With your back hurting you COULD be having back labor!
When contractions last 45 seconds to 1 minute long and come every fifteen to five minutes or less for at least an hour. Call your doctor.
CONGRATS!

depends is it mucus like white and milky? if so thats normal its called lukkoriah and its the mucus that women have even when they aren't pregnant it prevents vaginal infection. if its a clear boogery looking blob tinged with blood or even a clearish boogery looking discharge tinged with blood, then that probably is your mucus plug. the back pain and cramping, i've been having that for a few days along with some crazy braxton hicks contractions (i've been through a few too many false alarms its aggrivating) your body is preparing for labor but there is really no telling when it will happen just relax im having to do that the more you stress about the baby coming out the longer the little angel will stay in think of this as the early stages of sanity loss it will happen gradually as the children get older too good luck

It sounds like you are going to have your baby fairly soon. If it is your first baby, you can loose your mucus plug as early as two weeks prior to labor beginning. Back pain and cramping also can start early. If your contractions (pains where you feel your tummy tighten and release) start to become regular, time them from the beginning of one to the beginning of the next one. At five minutes a part, call your doctor. If your water breaks call your doctor. If you start bleeding, bright red blood, call your doctor and get to the hospital. I hope you are full term. I wish you the very best. Congratualations!!

You could be experiencing very early labor. In the beginning, much of the process is effacement, and not so much dilation. The good news is it definitely means you are closer! Your body is readying itself. What it does definitely indicate is some kind of cervical change. This means your cervix is beginning to open if you are expelling the mucus plug! Good luck!
