We need to keep training them. Rome wasn't built in a day you know...
Maybe they don't WANT us to leave so they refuse to fight like they should. They feel safer with us in their country. They hear so much negativity coming from the democrats in the US about abandoning them that they have lost the will to stand up and fight.

American soldiers SHOULD WORRY about NOT Iraqi troops not standing and running away, but TURNING ON AMERICANS and killing them.
Let's face it people, we don't train every Iraqi in Iraq. The training is limited and the training is done by seasonal, which takes time. You can't hire 5000 men one day and train them, it is possible that 500 of that 5000 men are actually signing up not to defend their country from others but to defend their country from the same people that trains them "Americans". So we are not stupid here. We are more concerned to see Iraqi troops fire at us like they did many times rather running away. I rather see them run away and never stand up for their country.

Sadly, the troops are very low on the list of priorities by the current regime in the US. This is evidenced time and again by things like trying to screw them out of needed health care, benefits, etc. by not armouring thier Humvees properly on and on...
The troops are basically covering the door at the bank while the robbery is taking place. The administration is propping up the leaders who will do what we set out there to do, namely -stablize the oil prices and take away the power to disrupt oil prices from the Iraqi people (Saddam etc.) this is mission acomplished and that is what was meant, and ALL those assholes who walked in to the White House in fur coats on GW B's last annaugration know this...
people like us, people like the troops, anyone who does not have high market value can basically screw off as far as those elites are concerned. The country is designed for those who own it. A look at Supreme Court cases all the way back to the dawn of the USA will show you a good look at what this country is about.
Once you examine how things work really closely it becomes obvious why the troops matter not to those in power. It is Machaevellian... and it is wrong.
This is why people need to organize outside the system if they ever want thier needs to be addressed. It is a concept the Zapatistas call politics "from below" another interesting set of ideas worth researching...

I totally agree with you. The Iraqis do not have the ambition like our soldiers do. The people there probably just wants us to hold their hands and nothing else. Once we step down, there is no one else to hold their hands. so what will the dumb republicans do. My solution is, for Bush to recrcruit his lovers (people who are loyal to him) all around the country to do volunteer work to help establish Iraq no matter how long it takes. This way my tax dollars are well spent by helping those are in need in this country. It sounds selfish, but our government had been neglecting our own welfare or domestic welfare for so long. It's really time to do something right than to have copulus with foreigners anymore, don't you agree?

thers really no way to get a true feel for the situation in iraq because every bit of media information released from there is carefully contrived ... there is no free press there .. in fact ive heard rumors that alot of the news stories are made up ... imo we should just get used to troops being in iraq because its my belief that iraq is our new and permanent military base in the middle east ... all the rest is just fluff to give us an excuse to stay until everyone kinda forgets about it and accepts it.
....and its not about oil ... its about the plans of the PNAC and the idea to turn iraq into a miltary base was concieved before 911 ...in their own words "the need for a substantial American force presence in the Gulf transcends the issue of the regime of Saddam Hussein"

Culpstir. You are totally uneducated on this subject. Of course it is about Oil. They are almost giving gas away in the U.S. nowadays. It doesn't have anything to do with taking out a ruthless dictator who killed about 2 million people. It must be about oil. We already fought a war over there for oil but for some reason we didn't take any...thats weird. Maybe you should finds some fact or anything but your own opinion to back this statement. Get I life. GOD BLESS AMERICA!!

Bush did no longer enable Bin laden to flee. So, looks like your view element is fake.
