Then why are the predominantly white areas of town usually the cleanest and nicest places to live, eat, go to school, and/or to go to for fun. The predominantly black areas of town are always the ares of town where you wouldn't want to be at in the day-time muchless at night. The predominantly black ares of town always have more crime such as:shooting, drug-pushing, robberies, muggings, prostitution, and rape. Black ares of town always have bars on the windows of the stores as well, you never see that in white parts of town. Still after all of this, I hear that there is no difference in whites and blacks. I know that there are some good black people out there and there are some bad white people, and vice versa, but surely there are some people out there who have noticed what I have just pointed out. All blacks might not be bad people, but you have to say that a vast number of them aren't exactly fine, decent, upstanding individuals. I've heard what Bill Cosby said, I agree thoroughly.

I know I'll probably get reported, but that only shows how the truth upsets some people. Today's weak, "please make me feel good about myself", politically correct, but factually inaccurate society can't stomach the truth, but regardless of opinion it's still the truth. You may not like it, but it's what we need. It's kind of like taking medicine when you were little when your were sick, you hated the taste, but it did you good.

I wish blacks would quit using slavery as a crutch. The reason why the black parts of town aren't fixed up and no one will pay the money to fix them up is because they won't work, therefore they have no money. If a wealthy person did decide to fix the areas up they would just be run down again in about an year or so. Also, blacks do get equal opportunities in most cases, and the cases where they don't is because they won't act, talk, dress, and carry themselves in a professional or intelligent manner.

I know the answer to my question, I was just wanting to see what everyone else had to say about the issue. Also, I know how to spell area and how to use spell check, I was simply in a hurry to get the question posted.

Yada, yada, yada, same old crap, "no opportunities", "slavery", and "economics." I believe it's about a lack of education, laziness, feeling of entitlement, how they were raised, and a lack of character.

2006-08-20 13:24:24 · update #4

Also a lack of pride in themselves and what they own.

I forgot the old standby, "Just blame white people if all else fails." If they don't achieve what they wish to achieve they need to quit pointing fingers and start looking in the mirror for who's to blame for what they have or haven't done. In today's society we all have the same opportunities unless we're white and we get cheated by affirmative action.

Joey Tomatoes, my ancestors were Irish and they had every vile, disgusting, demeaning thing imaginable done to them by the British. The ones who weren't Irish were Scottish and they were treated like crap as well by the British. So you see, I could blame someone else for every insecurity and issue that I have inside of me, but I don't.

Also, not all "slaves" were treated bad by their owners. Some were treated much better after arriving to the U.S. than they were in Africa. Most of them were slaves before they even came here. If they were honest they should blame who is really at fault for their ancestors being sold into slavery, the kings in Africa who sold them to the white man. White people couldn't buy what wasn't for sale in the first place. Like I've already said, they can blame themselves and their own for everything that is wrong with them.

People have to want to change first of all, and I don't see that happening anytime soon because it's too easy being lazy and letting hard working, tax payers pay for their food through EBT cards/food stamps as well as their belongings by the welfare checks that they draw every month. There you have it, Souljagirpart2. Also, I'm not ignorant, but it was a nice try calling me ignorant to attempt to take away my credibility. One doesn't need statistics in hand to see the differences between black neighborhoods and white neighborhoods, they just need to open their eyes and put away personal bias. Contrary to what you believe, blacks didn't pick up all of their undesirable habits from us, nor did we invent any of the nasty behavior that they display. We are not the root of all evil and all black people aren't all saints walking among us.

It's the Man keeping them down. Yea that's it, It's because all white people are racist and everything bad that happens, will happen or ever has happened in the black "hoods" is their fault. Yea that's it. If it wasn't for the white man all the "Thugs and Gangsta" would be the CEOS of all the important Mult-national corporations. And it's those racist white MoFo's fault their "hoes" and "bitches" live on well fare instead of having careers.
and are not able to improve there lot with education and or training. But instead have to lay around and pump out babies for non-existent fathers. Yea that's it. Hell if it wasn't for the white man holding them back the black man could have all went back to
Africa to live with their "bros" in the lap of luxury where there is a thriving civilisation with vast opportunity and a thriving economy. That coupled with the security and safety that is so abundant in almost all areas of Africa, they could flourish and prosper like the rest of there kind there. But noooooo..because the the crackers they have to live here in the USA.
What a shame! I feel soooooo guilty.

Put the blame on two things; the federal government and the parents.

1. In the 1950's, blacks had no rights. So the federal government forced the whites to give the blacks rights. The blacks responded by getting better jobs, better houses, etc. Life was good and getting better.

2. Then the federal government made a mistake; they said, wait, these people are not ready to go on and help themselves from now on. We need to keep helping them. So the children started to learn that they could get anything they needed from the federal government. Why should they work like their parents did? It is called welfare.

3. As time when by, and children became parents, they taught THEIR children the same thing; you are black, you do not have to work, you have rights, no one can tell you what to do. The children got even more lazier.

Then along came drugs. Just what the parents and children needed to get thru their daily lives. Because, a life of doing absolutely nothing day after day, is worse than death. The boredom is terrible. Drugs erased that boredom. And the parents and chidren got all the drugs they wanted and again did not have to do anything for those drugs.

But then the government finally changed. You have to go to work, you have to go to school, you have to talk english. And all those parents who never worked, they are simply - lost! And the drug dealers? They started charging money for the drugs. So the people who had no job skills, got the money the only why they could do - by stealing from each other. If you stole more than someone else, they killed you to keep the competition down.

Bill Cosby is right. But he is not saying why this happen to the blacks. Only when blacks are no longer a minority, and they loose all their rights, will this change.

The newspapers say by 2050 this will become true.

I totally see what ur saying. I was just explaining to a friend of mine that my folks moved from their first home because all the blacks were moving in. She gasped a little, but then i explained y...so she understood. They moved to a predominantly white area(it's mixed now), and it's a good neighborhood. They've got a neighborhood watch, and a homeowners association, and activities for residents and a club house and pool(the previous subdiviision had none of this). There are blacks who live there, but u don't know they live there...and they keep their property neat and clean. There is a difference..but it has to do with what cultural norms they choose to follow..otherwise the term "white trash" wouldn't exist. People who aren't white have it a bit rougher than the rest...so it's harder for them, and a majority of these folks don't take oppurtunities for advancement...so they're only expected to live a lowly lifestyle; and that's all they do. They don't require much more of themselves either. The whites have given them a way out...whine enough and we'll pay you. So y try when u can live lazily and be happy? Sure wish other minorities had it that easy. I agree with Bill Cosby too. I agree with George Lopez as well...if ur gonna come to an English speaking country, keep ur language and ur culture if u wish, but learn ENGLISH! Y? Because the Brits were here first!(after the natives of course)!

Hi. I'm surprised at the response you got on this one. I was so hated when I said much less. You're right and so was Bill Cosby but he is hated too for saying the truth.

I believe it's the leftovers from slavery. The newest generation is only 3-5 generations from that of slavery and the first 2-3 generations after slavery weren't given many opportunities at all. That is changing and more black (African American) people are becoming very educated and even becoming leaders.

Unfortunately, some young kids (punks) don't get the importance of bringing the African American culture up to date and into a world of greater respect and so they are getting into trouble selfishly. That makes the neighborhoods bad too, little punks who tear crap up. Their parents could be good, God loving people but the young people have to do their part too.

In general, it's getting better.

Well, I didn't want to waste my time to answer such a ridiculous stereotypical question/comment but................... here are the statistics on those who are on welfare here in America: White 38.8%, Black 37.2, Hispanic 17.8, Asian 2.8, and Other 3.4! Now let me also explain that while we were brought to this country as slaves African Americans remained very rich in African culture. Meaning that although they were in a different country and type of society they still kept many of the same customs, and practices. However, may I add that many if not all of the culture that African Americans have become accustomed to originate by the European Caucasians. We as African Americans never took it upon ourselves to practice homosexuality, nor used violence as a means of control or pelf and personal gain, nor did we form a corrupt government. May I also add that although Africans Americans earned their equality here no one mentioned that it was earned non-violently? May I also add that African Americans did not form the government, nor did they compose the laws? Point and case WE didn't choose to make laws nor did African Americans plan to abuse it. Obviously, some African Americans saw the type of behavior that was occurring and adopted from you know who. I am not here to point fingers but I would suggest that you read, research, and learn so that you can formulate your questions better, have a very knowledgeable answer, and an informative factual backing to support you opinion! Now what’s always been the worse epidemic that has affected everyone and has perpetuated individuals like yourself to not only stay ignorant but be ignorant of your own ignorance! May I also add that although many people can find fault how many people actually try to make a positive change by helping those who they criticize!?

First off, I'm assuming that you're Mr. White Person (or Mrs. or Ms. or whatever), which makes the point I'd like to raise a little difficult, because you already sound prejudiced.

But how do you think you'd feel if the shoe was on the other foot? That is to say, that instead of blacks being singled out by the majority of whites as being inferior and odd, and being subjected to the unrelenting disgust of whites and being treated as something worse than a contagious and deadly disease, it was the whites who would have been so treated by the majority of blacks.

It's fairly easy to walk in your own shoes; try walking in the other person's shoes, whom you criticize and denigrate!

I've always been thankful that I was born a white man, because the treatment accorded blacks by this country is nothing short of despicable.

How can you blame that race for the things you raise in your query? Tell me truthfully how you think you'd act if you and every single one of your American ancestors were treated like blacks have been treated in this country? Why shouldn't they be hostile? Angry? Bitter? Rebellious? Enraged? Defiant? Etc.?

Be serious, dude! If you really think about it, what the heck would you expect from a race of people that have--and continue to be--held in the lowest regard by the vast majority of whites in this country?

well if you agree with what Bill said then there shouldn't be a problem for you to figure out this question,it's what a person gets use to if you were raised in a slum and that's all you know, how could you just one day wake up and be different in the type of life style you live,
or vice verse, there is no difference in a person ,physically, they all need the same things, some get them some don't and that's the main answer to this question.

i won't tell you there's no difference b/t whites and blacks. white people have no rhythm and black people are better at sports. white women try to be black by tanning and getting collagen injections- and what about this whole "booty" implant thing? that's just... ri-damn-diculous. anyway...

the reason for these differences you have stated are merely economical. regardless of the fact that slavery was legally abolished some 100 years ago, the ramifications of it are still felt today. lets just go back to the 60's. black families were denied housing in neighborhoods where white people lived, and if they were successful in obtaining a house in a white neighborhood, that neighborhoods' property value diminished immediately. that in turn, either turned these neighborhoods into black neighborhoods, or these guidelines made black families have to stay in the projects and substandard living facilities, because that was all that they were offered. despite the housing grants given to the many black soldiers returning from war, neighborhoods with white people in them would not honor them. etc, etc etc.

so, being that the 60's are only 40 or so years ago, thats what, 2-3 generations of people? if your parents live in substandard housing, but still have to work 2 jobs to support the household, chances are, as soon as you, the child, are of working age, you are working and contributing to the household as well. there is no money for you to go to college- the majority of people who get loans for college for their children use their house as collateral- if you live in apartments/projects, you have no collateral to use. thus, the chances of your children continuing their education is very limited, therefore their job opportunities are as well. thus, the cycle continues.
