Depends on the state, but in Texas it's 20% for the first child, and 15% for each additional child, so that would be 35%. With his income, that's $35,000 a year, or about $2800 a month. We don't have alimony in Texas, though, so I can't figure that in.

Every state is different according to the guidelines....some states base it on gross pay while others base it on net pay...

In my state, it is 27% for one child gross pay and it increases to approximately 33% for two children and once they turn 13 you get an additional 10% of the child support amount you are receiving. You also have the right to ask for half of unpaid medical expenses and if you don't have health insurance, you can ask that he cover the children as well. Be warned that judges can use their own discretion though when determining the child support amount within 2% of the guidelines at least where I am anyway. Good luck....

I can't remember the charts that base income to # of children for support but I'd say $500-600 a child if he's making that kind of $.
I get $500 for 2 kids but my ex makes 35,0000 a year. Talk to a lawyer to find out for sure, I don't know where you live so the rules are different in other countries I'm sure.

I think the amount a woman should get for keeping a child has nothing to do with what a man earns, but how much responsibility he's willing to take on and how well he wants his child taken care of. It's a matter for his conscience really, but if you really need to round it off to dollars and cents, in order for the child to have a good education, clothing, holidays, footwear, treats and so on, I guess about 15% of his salary for one, and 25% for two.

I don't know for sure but my ex pays approximately 20% of his income to child support and that is for 1 school aged child. I think different states have different rules but that is what I get.
