war upon the US and this little town of Jericho is functioning but can't reach anyone else.. like it's the only survivor in a world attack

Could it be the year 2011 when we are bombarded with the Northern lights that causes all the world to short circuit blowing up the power plants and stopping all energy every where?

I believe it is about a town that survives a nuclear explosion (the mushroom cloud). I think that show centers around the aftermath.
