I'm pretty sure she already knew, got the hint not that she needed it, may or may not do anything about it, probably yo-yo dieted and gave up.
So how does this start anyway?
I think one of a few related ways starts the yo-yo path to obesity, strangely enough they are all indirectly linked to poverty. In one situation, a parent or parents start by eating their children's leftovers, because they don't want to waste food or money. In another, someone eats the whole restaurant meal for the above reason in combination with embarassment over asking for a doggy bag or not understanding that a portion and a serving size may not be the same thing. That's life for adults. For children, it comes from working parents (ie money needy) who are too tired to prepare healthy food when they get back home so they feed their kids brand foods which are obviouslh high in fat to give satiety. No parent would ever dream of buying a weight watcher dinner for a normal weight child because hey it's diet food and expensive. The kids slowly get fat and well once they're fat then weight watcher's is okay. Another way kids get fat is parents who just can't say no.Adults who grew up without candy, cola...don't want to "deny" their kids anything and unfortunately they often don't have the power to even deny them unhealthy things.
This is why rich people may sometimes get overweight but not obese and poor people are sometimes huge. I think it's sad; luckily people are waking up to serving size and that should help.

You sound real concerned . Did you help the lady up or look the
other way? Were you worried she might have gotten hurt or were
you smirking over her weight problem ?
It sounds like you are obsessed with large people. Do you think they do not know they are fat? If you gave them a mirror do you
think they would look and say omg that they are fat ?
When people make fun of a too fat person or too skinny person or
a not nice looking person its to make of for their own downfalls ,
whatever that might be.

Some people cant help it. If you have never been overweight, watch it. But the hint should be to sit in a sturdier chair or pew.

Depends- is it glandular or just gluttony? Glandular theres not a whole lot this person can do. If glutton? Then theres more problems that are deeper- and they'll need counseling. Good Luck for her
