It is a proven fact that the use of drugs in males not only effect their sterility but also can cause birth defects in their children. However you have to consider the last time they used before conception. If their system was already "cleaned out" or enough time has pasted before conception then you should be fine.

I've heard it could affect the baby. I think how recent the use was is the key factor. I was a heroin addict for many years i had been clean 10 months before getting pregnant 4 months off methadone "the father is not a user drinker or smoker" i ask the doc if my PAST use would have ANY EFFECT he said no way...it was just too long ago. I think the mothers actions affect the child more however there is some research to prove pregnancy is affected by a fathers use of drink or drugs if they are drinking or using when the pregnancy occurred. My baby is fine has been tested 4 anything abnormal.

Drug use in fathers has been proven to be associated with genetic anomalies and defects in the fetus. The drugs cause mutations in the sperm, and can affect fertility as well. If this is the case, mom must notify the doctor of the risk. The doctor can then recommend testing if they feel it necessary. It would be wise to pass this information on to the mother and father of the unborn child.

During gestation, almost all drugs cross the placenta and affect the unborn child
support the suspicion that a father's drinking may also affect an unborn child

Absolutely. If the father is engaging in sexual acts with the expectant mother and he is using drugs, traces of drugs can be transferred to the mother and therefore to the unborn child via semen and other exchanged bodily fluids.

anything a man takes can cause damage to his sperm as well as the foods he eats. IT is a possibility something can be wrong but not always a factor. If you have any doubts there are tests that can be done while pregnant. good luck

i saw it in someone else. my bro' in law. and the price was the utmost.
believe me. it DOES happen.
