How do you shave your bikini zone? Very carefully! Seriously, you should shave it in the direction in which the hair grows. Since the skin around there is more sensitive, you should hold a warm washcloth in the area first. Then apply a good shave gel that is made for sensitive skin. Apply it liberally and then shave with a new razor. The red bumps you see are from using a crappy blade and shaving against the hair growth. You can conceivably get ingrown hairs in all those bumps, if you're not careful. Another thing to consider is to not shave at all, but wax. You can do it yourself and buy a professional waxing set up for about $100. That lasts a long time and you can do your eyebrows, facial hair and whole legs, but that hurts A LOT!
I hope this helps.

Plucking (tweezing), Shaving, Depilatory creams and Waxing are temporary hair removal methods.
Waxing usually lasts for 3 weeks, but it is painful.
Electrolysis and laser hair removal are "permanent" hair removal methods but are expensive and you have to find a trained professional, otherwise your skin could be damaged.

Take a bath in hot water (as hot as you can) before you wax (Nads is a little better than wax) This with open the pores your hair follicles are in and make waxing easier with less spots.
Then apply lotion to the area (Aloe Vera ot Vitamin E lotion)

Get the area really saturated in water first. You can use lidocaine to get the bumps out- or you can use hydrogen peroxide. ( I was a "exotic" dancer for years...this is what worked for me!)
