No, I wouldn't. It's not that I don't think that there aren't a lot of bright 18 year olds out there, there are. But It takes more than intelligence and an education to be an effective leader. It takes life experience, That can include business or the military or politics. I think the authors of the constitution got it about right when they came up with 35.

Nah. I used to think along those lines when I was 18 -- but I would have been pretty much a GW Bush back then.
We need to radically scale-back our government and put procedural protections in place to guarantee both civil liberties, and human and civil rights.
There's just no way for an 18yo to have the life experience essential to being the leader of a superpower; most don't even have what it takes to be a "good" (in the ethical sense) leader of a small business (say, between 100 and 500 employees).

It is obviously not necessary to have skills knowledge or brain power to become US President, because some Presidents have been a little short of some of these. However it is essential to have plenty of money, so unless you Daddy's a millionaire, you'd better stark making some cash. It's also helpful if you have a brother who is Governor of a key State.

It's possible. But highly unlikely. Most 18 year olds are more interested in popularity and sex than in government. You need a little seasoning first.
Oh, wait, we had someone who was more interested in sex than government from1/20/1993 to 1/20/2001.

18 teen year olds are far too immature to try to deal with issues facing America. for that matter most 35 year olds are too immature.

No way. They lack the skills and knowledge that a person gains as they have experiences growing up.

Eighteen year olds are too immature but they think they know everything. That combination makes them worse than Bush.
