If so, how often should I feed it and what kind of plant food should I buy?

Yes. No more than once a month. Use Miracle Gro house plant food. Remember that all house plants need a resting period. I live in a cold climate where available daylight is reduced to 3 1/2 hrs. in the dead of winter. I choose this period of 4 months or so to not feed my plants.

I've heard that most house plants should be fertilized with a good all around fertilizer, from roughly April through August, when the days are long, and they get an abundance of light. During fall, and winter, the days are too short, and plants don't get enough light to justify fertilizing them.
