as far back as you can find information. Unless you came from Royalty, most European ancestral information is going to get severely limited by the 1700's. Commoners weren't always listed on manifests, and many men worked aboard ship and jumped ship and established lives here, leaving no records of where they came from. We have traced your family history back to Albany, New York in the 1650's
The English side left there for political reasons. The Dutch side can be traced back to 1470's

I traced my family back to Austria. My grandmother told me that we are the decendants of Austrian royals. I'm not sure about that part though.
