ok. i have been trying to play on my computer, games. but when i try playing HALF-LIFE 2 my computer takes forever to load it up! and when it finally starts (halleliya!) when i turn like the character around it freezes for like 2 minutes! (GRRRRRRRRRRRRR......) do you know things that i should add to my computer to make it to the end of my games with out it Stoping or freezing?

and if my computer might be infected with virus,etc.. what are so good A++ applications

Theres actually quite a few reasons this may be happening and what things you may want to try

1. You dont have enough RAM or your graphics card isn't all that great. For desirable play most games recommend 512mb of RAM and a strong upto date graphics card

2. As stated before, you may have a slow processor. Installing a faster processor may help

3. (If playing via internet multiplayer connections) your coneection to the net may not be proper (i.e. you have dial up rather then DSL or cable) If using dial-up you are pretty much out of luck, upgrading to DSL or cable connection will definatly improve gameplay

4. You have too many processes or applications running at the time you are trying to play
hint: check task manager for this info and then end processes that you don't need to run. this can take some time and practice
(Warning: DO NOT disable your anti-virus software when playing online)

5. Your computer is infected with some type of Spyware, Adware, or someother maliscious program or virus.
Running an upto date anti-virus and anti-spyware/adware programs will help to determine if your computer has been infected.

A few other things you may want to try is running a defragmentation program, clearing your computer of tempory internet files and cookies, and running a registry cleaner (use caution when using this type program, always back up your registry in case something goes wrong).

or if all else fails and if you have the money, build or buy a computer built for gaming

turn the game setting down to ther lowest
change the screen size to 1024 and res down to 16 bit insted off 32 bit
see if that makes a differance. if works adjust the game setting up slightly till your happy
enjoy the game

Prob. needs more ram, my computer can't run any games because of the same thing.
