Just sit back and laugh at all those idiots who pay to be a human advertising board.
How sad is that?

The adoptation of FCUK was allegedly triggered by the fax that French Connection sent to their ad agency when commissioning the campaign. The person who had programmed the fax had put into the machine the header of FCUK, so that it went out on all faxes sent from that machine. It was a subversive act by an employee picked up on by the ad people. After all, the people sending stuff out from the fax had no idea that FCUK was appearing at the top of everything they sent, allegedly. So, given that it's a perfectly legitimate abbreviation, where's the problem? It's a fantastic play on words, a brilliant brand re-inforcement and is a lot cleaner than many other things I've seen printed on items of clothing, or indeed tatooed onto the body.

It may be an anagram of an obscene word to some...

But it is also an acronym/trade mark/brand symbol, for the rather successful fashion group: 'French Connection UK'!!

While I agree with you that they probably could have chosen better: and that there are some perverse people out there who would just ware it as an anagram of that obscene word... It is the mind of the person, not the symbol that needs changing... or political correctness will go hay wire with goodness knows what being banned, closed, changed & altered!!

FCUK stands for French Connection UK.

It's not meant to be an anagram of an obscene word. It has nothing to do with this word. And is not a violation of any kind.

If something like this offends you, I wonder how you get through each day. I can only imagine how many things must offend you.

No, FCUK stands for French Connection United Kingdom. Everyone knows that. It's not their fault that it's anagram of the f word, and they didn't do it deliberately. Only losers do stuff like that, and why are you so annoyed about a little thing like this? Get a life. Delete this question before everyone sees how much of a fool you've made of yourself.

It is an abbreviation of French Connection UK but it is also used as an anagram of the work **** in some of the slogans printed on their clothes. However I think there are more important things to worry about in this world.

Its not an anagram. Its the initials of "French Connection United Kingdom" the company name. Its simply an abbreviation that people ASSUME means something else.

IF it stood for Fred Carter Unisex Klothing (and I actually thought it did stand for something like that), I MIGHT be willing to let it go, free speech and all that, and if it is the guy's initials. But given what you've said, that what it looks like is ALL it is, I'd have to agree with you. Just because one can put certain letters in a certain order and glue them onto a t-shirt doesn't mean one should.

I think FCUK stands for french connection uk and so if anyone reads meaning into it, it is their problem and not the word itself!
