Well, if I didn't have A/C in my room I would feel uncomfortable while people/kids are being bombed and starving elsewhere. Don't see how that has changed anything.
Playing guilt trips on people doesn't solve problems. It just gets people to tune you out of their lives.
Also you are not being honest as you are implying that they are somehow responsible for the plight of the bombed and starved.
You need to turn your attention to the direct causes of the bombed and starved.
For example starved: That is happening in North Korea because the world doesn't demand that that hard line communist government with a hereditary ruler doesn't care for his people. Start hammering China to get them to force North Korea to change. Not much Americans can do for that.
Second example of Starved: Zimbabwa, caused by a racists black leader who ran off the white land owners so he could put ignorant supporters on their land and because they didn't know how to raise crops they produced nothing. Results: starvation.
Bombed people/kids: Well, which ones do you want to complain about? Take your pick. The main places it is happening is where Islamic fundamentalists are desparately trying to prevent their societies from moving into the 21st century and who will kill anyone to prevent the loss of their authoritariian regimes. They resort to terror, raise state sponsored terrorism, attempt blackmail, and use women and children to hide behind in any fight. Why don't you support the forces of democratization that are the only way to end their despotism.
And get off your silly soapbox. You look like a fool.
I'll get my own drink, thank you.

Actually, it's much more comfortable when I'm inside an air conditioned room, rather than outside in the heat and humidity. I'll take a pina colada.

Yes, I do, and I'll bet you do too...at least if you were honest. Would you really rather switch positions? Is feeling guilty going to solve the problems?

Yes, I am it, doesn't mean that I don't care. The unfortunate thing is, there is not much anyone can do about it. I believe that is why the military exists.
