Kazaa is a peer to peer file sharing application. It may be used to violate copyright laws.

The US Supreme Court in MGM Studios, Inc. v. Grokster, Ltd. ruled that "one who distributes a device with the object of promoting its use to infringe copyright, as shown by clear expression or other affirmative steps taken to foster infringement, is liable for the resulting acts of infringement by third parties."

It is illegal only if it encourages people to infringe on copyrights. It is questionable whether its intended use is violating copyrights, but there is no question people use it to infringe on copyrights. Kazaa, and people who use it, are, in fact, infringing copyrights and are playing a dangerous game.

Obviously, it is perfectly legal if you use it for legal purposes.

No it's not, Kazaa started out years ago, and put a "File Transfer" Program out to those who needed to share files and information, the idiot's who started the "Illegal File Sharing" are the one's that gave it a bad name.. To use a legitimate software is Legal, the purpose of using it , Is Questionable..... Piracy, It's Not Worth It, for one reason, it's what get's the cost of software for those Like me that buy it, Raised through the Roof, to where it's hard to afford it anymore... Kazaa is Good, illegal File Sharing Bad, and I'm talking about someone transferring a copy of Windows or other software, not Word Documents, or Freeware..............

The regulations are a touch diverse in diverse international locations. yet truly there is the college of concept that those who make, record and carry out song could be paid for it. because of this Kazaa is unlawful. the persons who do the appearing and recording (and record organizations) desire price for generating the song. If one individual buys a CD and then stocks it out over the internet, then the different human beings received't flow and purchase the CD. Then the record organization looses out on money. record organizations are not extremely that wealthy. I studied a song administration direction and learnt all about this. this is as a lot as you to apply Kazaa yet you possibly receives stuck finally, and they'll fantastic you badly. It as be stated in previous posts how they could locate out. maximum artists that are wealthy like Missy Elliot, J-Lo are wealthy from different organization ventures mutually with clothing or fragrance. So do not imagine that the song marketplace is wealthy, because it ain't. this is the artists that are. I hate to be nasty yet downloading unlawful song stops record organizations from making an investment in new song and taking risks with new sounds. this is as a lot as you to take the possibility.
