Many Americans enjoy the art of Anime. You may be surprised that Anime societies are found across the United States on college and university campuses.
I do not believe however that the two art forms, Anime and Cartoonism, will ever merge. While both are based on animation, they are two different genres, which cater to two different groups.
Parents should be cautious when allowing children to watch Anime as the content may not be appropriate.

Many Westerners do enjoy anime in its "pure" form, unaltered by the devils at 4Kids, DiC, and early Funimation, but anime translated into English with as much accuracy re the Japanese version as possible. I know people that won't buy anime that has been licensed by 4Kids (and I am one of them). It's just that the huge abominations like Pokemon and Dragonball Z get talked about a lot more because they are so bad.

Western animation is seen as something childish by tradition, I have yet to encounter something that's isn't anime and has got blood and gore, violence, strong language, well, maybe the old Aeon Flux series on MTV, but that was still made by a Japanese artist. Anime is the right choice here. The best ones are made for adults anyway.

We already have many serious animated shows and movies. But I understand that they're more family oriented. Just look at any of the earlier works of Disney.
I don't really think it's a matter of Americans accepting it. I think it's more of Hollywood taking the chance and actually creating them to see how they do. They don't want to risk all that money and have people ignore it.

Ugh! I hate when certain episodes of anime's are not shown hear because kids are too sensitive. I have seen animes where they say words like damn it and hell and when you watch the English version the characters say something else. I am so sick of it. I don't think well ever get one that's like that as long as there are those who'll protest it and there always is someone.

i have grown up observing both and that i like em both both. I do relish jap anime more beneficial even as it contains storylines. maximum American cartoons are made particularly for dumb babies so it truly is hard to locate one which has an effective tale. maximum anime are more beneficial mature and also have kinds of reports from American exhibits. they variety from action, romance, sci-fi, mecha, fable, slice of existence, college existence, drama, cooking, song, action, experience, events, martial arts, and psychological, etc,.... even as it contains the animation, i like American more beneficial effectual. jap anime is okay drawn, yet not properly lively. The characters are often too nevertheless, even as american animation may have the characters shifting and function some body language even as they talk. yet I do get excitement from that anime keeps the lips purely up and down, keeps the lip syncing from searching awkward even as they get dubbed. yet not something can learn to the animation high quality of the classic disney action pictures, ahh so attractive ^_^ yet particularly it truly is not user-friendly to benefit such quite some issues. no matter if something is way less reasonable or in spite of it would want to nevertheless be an effective and interesting element to exhibit screen.

Probably not. Even the anime that is shown here on American TV is censored compared to the original Japanese versions.

I think it's a matter of preference. I like films films like "Spirited Away," but I'm not interested in dramatic or sci-fi films that are animated. I'm sure there are others who'd like them, though.
