Benjamin Franklin was in short a genius. I do believe he wanted wants best for the majority of the people and thats what he preached even if he didn't fall into that category.

I don't understand. Are you asking if Franklin was a hypocrite? There is no real evidence that he preached what he did not believe. Actually, he did no "preaching". He was not a minister of any kind. He was, however, an able diplomat, inventor and journalist. He is considered, historically, a decent, good-humored and intelligent personage. I think he believed what he wrote and said.

He was a middle class man, you should read "The Autobiography of Benjamin Franklin", he stood up for the middle class working man in a time when Kings and gold ruled over all majority. I come from his blood line, he was my 6th uncle on my father's side. :)
