It definitely will. Given that Alex Smith is a relatively young QB and still learning the ropes of the offense, they need a dependable line to protect him; and it'll certainly help if he has an opportunity to develop alongside that o-line. The Niner's line should be improved with the return of Jonas Jennings from injury and the addition of Larry Allen, but loing Jeremy Newberry definitely will impact the Niner's offense. Not sure who they'll have at center now, be it Baas or Heittman or whoever...However, I think the injury probably won't affect the Niner's too drastically as a whole, since Newberry has had a history of injury problems and the Niners had to play without him for a good part of the past few seasons.

The center is a very important part of the offense. He gives the ball to the quarterback. You need a good offensive line to be a good team.
It could affect the team, but there will be someone who will replace him and be just as good.

No it won't. They will stink with or without him. They still need a lot of help, and losing a guy who's already on the downside won't make much of a difference, if any.
