I am old and have many Gay and Lesbian friends, we kiss and hug often. this doesn't make me gay or in the case of my lesbian friends, make them heterosexual. if you are close friends a kiss here of there should not sully the relationship.
No I am not just talking a peck, but full on kisses. Peter here sitting next to me says, if he gave you a full on kiss he would want no more. He wouldn't give his boyfriend up for you, but if it worries you 'tell your friend where you draw the line' perhaps he feels as bad as you.

Were you drinking? And it also depends on the context of the situation. He might be curious about being with a woman or kissing a woman ... Maybe he's wanting to experiment

talk to him and try and get to the bottom of this. it does happen more often than you think. it could be a mistake or maybe hes bi-sexual. or maybe it was a friendly gesture that was taken the wrong way.it may feel a bit awkard for a bit but you need to clear the air for the sake of your relatioship, be it friendship or something more serious. good luck!
