What is the best mp3 player that's no more than $75, something that's good for hiking with, perhaps maybe a little running/jogging, and probably bowling, which I know isn't a real physical sport so it doesn't really matter if i just said that or not. I would like it if it was fairly small, not longer than a pencil so that I could ahve it in my pocket. I hope it's durable. And if you have had it and it's been good to you, would you mind writing a review about all its features and pros/cons (like sound quality, durability, y'know) and maybe some tips? Thanks in advance.

Try the SanDisk M230 - on sale now for only $40 at Staples and Best Buy. It has 512 MB flash memory so no moving parts used in hard-drive-based players, which can get knocked out of whack very easily when bumped hard enough.

the Creative Nano is the best player for your needs.you can get it a 512 mb .The nano has an incredible batttery life 18 hours on 1 AAA battery!! also it has built in FM radio and a nice oled screen which supports playlists. It is a flash player so you can jogg with it and creative has the best sound quality in the market (siginal to noise ratio of 97 Db).it is small ,about the size of a box of tic tacs.
Creative were the first company to make mp3 players and they are durable, my last one is still going after 3 years.

I think for the price you can't beat an Ipod shuffle. Apple.com sells the 512MB model for $69.00. It's easy to use, compact, and has an impressive battery life. Here are the specs.

I don't have an mp3 player in mind, but I know some good web tools.

http://www.cnet.com - has reviews of almost every mp3 player on the market
http://www.froogle.com - online shopping search - even if you don't want to purchase one from online, you can use this to guage the pricing
http://www.amazon.com - you might not buy it from them, but most of their products have been reviewed by customers, and you can see what the marketplace for mp3 players is like
