Depends where you are flying from really.

South Africa's national carrier is South African Airways (SAA)(www.flysaa.com). Other major carriers to South Africa are:
KLM
Virgin
British Airways
Emirates
Malaysian Airlines

If you're coming from the US, it might be cheaper to take a flight to Amsterdam, Dubai or London and then take KLM from Amsterdam, Emirates from Dubai or BA/Virgin/SAA/Nationwide Air from London to get here. Direct flights from the US are very expensive so it's usually better to go via another country.

Go to www.acsa.co.za for listings of arrivals and departures to South African International Airports (chief entry points are Cape Town, Johannesburg and Durban). The airlines listed on there will be a good guide for you.

The following websites might also have special deals you can check out:
www.flightcentre.co.za
www.clubtravel.co.za
www.thompsonstours.co.za
www.pentravel.co.za
www.sureflywell.co.za

plenty if you book in advance. I would suggest that you book your tickets atleast 6 months before you intend travelling. Also keep an eye open for specials at your local travel agent
