Get the latest codec packs for Windows Media Player and you should be fine. Or, try using VLC player to play your movie or another program like DivX.

that actually happeneed to me for a while until i figured out what happened, the thing is if you play it on the computer and there is no sound that means the computer is not compatible with that particular sound system or if u are playing it on a tv that means that the tv has a bult in vcr and the movie wont play sound because of a security feature to keep you from copying it on videotape
