Not an easy letter, just remember what ever you decide to write be polite, and remember you may need a reference, from them and you never know you may need to ask them for a job again. Don't worry about your leave that's not your problem, they would not feel bad if they had to sack you before your holiday.

Good luck

Thank him/her for the opportunity of working with the team for so long. Say that you have been offered the opportunity to work somewhere else, that gives you the chance to do different things.

Your 'new' employers have asked you to start on a certain date. Up until then you will continue in your existing job, unfortunately it includes the two weeks holiday you have booked and paid for - if you pull out og the holiday you will lose at least half of the money you have paid, and that it will disappoint a few people.

I faced a similiar situation a few years back, my employers accepted that the last week of my 'official' notice period I would be on holiday.

I did it by using search engine, found a site that gives several examples of resigning letters. I kept mine simlple and did not give a reason for leaving. You have nothing to feel bad about, I worked in a college so have long summer hols and used it to give four weeks notice so I don't have to go back at all. My new job will be starting next week. Good luck with your new job.

You obvioulsy care much more about your employer than your employer cares about you. A quick note wil do saying "this is to inform you that I am giving my notice of resignation." Then let them ask you why? etc. Don't slag off the company. Just say you have found an opportunity in another company. You are entitled to tkae you leave or perhaps to have it paid as extra work if you dod not take it.

If your co-worker is a man, you might be able to claim sexual discrimination, and get a pay rise. If you still want to leave, just say how much you've enjoyed working there, but that a job better suited to you has come along. Remember, your boss would love to work less hours for more money too.

Perfectly legal the holidays are yours, just cos' you haven't taken them yet doesn't mean you can lose them.

Be polite in your letter, if they have pissed you off don't lower your self to their level...not professional! Besides one day you may want a reference from them.

Be prepered for a counter offer from the company you are working for. You may think they have not noticed you but a lot of companies play ignorant until you put them in a position to show their hand. If you are experienced they may not want to lose you. At the end of the day it's upto you to say your not happy with your salary, thier door is normally always open but you have to walk through it.

Good luck what ever happens.

Let you employer know that after much thought and consideration you've decided to leave x company to pursue personal and professional opportunities that are beneficial to you. They do NOT need to know what these opportunities are. Tell them that you've always felt you were an important part of your team/group/unit whatever and wish them continued success with the company/unit/division whatever. Be vague, polite, and thankful. Never burn bridges. You never know when you'll see these people again or need a recommendation.

Good luck

Letters of notice should be written in both your style, but should contain certain key details, so please adjust this so it sounds like something appropriate to what you would write.

=======
Dear XXXXX

I write to provide my notice of Leaving.

Though I have enjoyed my time working for this organisation, I move on to (seek new challenges/ Enhance my experience/ change my direction/ focus on studies).

I wish to take xxxxx as my last day of work, and to take the remainder of the xxxx week notice period as holiday leave

In my departure, I trust I may use your name as a referee for future employees, and I again thank you for the experience I have gained.

Your sincerely

Whatever you do, dont use the:

You can take this job and shove it up you a55
=====
routine, as you may rely on this person for a reference later.

I've had a great time working for the company and wish it every sucess in the fiture (gag)

simple is fine.
remember the holiday might be over your entitlement so you could lose some days pay so get that cleared before you go so you know how many days entitlement you have maybe they will owe you .
