It is kind of like a cheese grater on one side and a nail file on the the other. I am not sure if I should soak my feet for a while first or what else I could do. Thank you.

If you have no clue... go to a salon and have them pamper your feet. Watch what they do, then next week you will know how to use the utensil. However, It is a good idea to wash your feet before beginning any foot cleaning regime. After soaking your feet in a solution of Epsom salt (or similar), dry your feet. Then take the rough (cheese grater) side and sand the bottom of your feet with it. Don't scrub too hard, as your feet may be delicate. After this use the nail file side to accentuate and fine tune the skin down. Then wipe your feet off and use some lotion. This procedure should be done at least once per week. No one wants to rub feet with a scrub brush.

use a foot skin softener first then file slowly up and down. never across the skin. the rough side is to loosen up the skin and the other is to file off the rough skin, If you don't want to spend money buying foot cream , use a good lotion and rub in till your feet are smooth and dry. file easy ..
