I think John Lennon said: Life is what happens when you are busy making plans.

that could be a very personal question since life is so ambiguous and intangible and the answers come from a myriad of individual perspectives and experiences.

but that's not an answer. . . life is a force. kind of vague, what? suppose life is a power that we once imagined a searing bolt of lightening could create. now instead of nature's muscle, we imagine life is in test tubes and cells. a little too simple and technical an explanation, maybe.

life is that invisible and exhilerating wind that i can feel pulsing through me when i stand still and feel the bouncing and crackling energy of my surroundings.

what is soul?

Life is existence with experiences. When we live, we carry bundles of emotions and go on attempting to relieve them on others. Greed forces us to accumulate wealth and property. Anger makes us to take revenge and paves the way to criminal acts. Growth and development inject the feeling of superiority complex in our minds. Desires hunt and haunt us throughout our lives and we struggle in getting them fulfilled. Inspite of all these the beauty of nature, company of good people, discipline and devotion, love and generosity, courage and courteousness, education and training, sex and sanity, quest for better life and readiness to leave this world at any time are all the qualities that make human life enjoyable and worthy. Though this question leads to more scientific and philosophical answers, mine is that of a common man.

Life is like a potter's clay which can be moulded into whichever way we like.Life is the result of the conflicts of our self and soul.A person may live life just for himself,he/she may live life just for others,but the ideal life would be the one which is being lived for oneself and others and never disturbing the balance.that is what is needed today in this world of hate and deceit.

LIFE, believe, is not a dream
So dark as sages say;
Oft a little morning rain
Foretells a pleasant day.
Sometimes there are clouds of gloom,
But these are transient all;
If the shower will make the roses bloom,
O why lament its fall ?

Rapidly, merrily,
Life's sunny hours flit by,
Gratefully, cheerily,
Enjoy them as they fly !

What though Death at times steps in
And calls our Best away ?
What though sorrow seems to win,
O'er hope, a heavy sway ?
Yet hope again elastic springs,
Unconquered, though she fell;
Still buoyant are her golden wings,
Still strong to bear us well.
Manfully, fearlessly,
The day of trial bear,
For gloriously, victoriously,
Can courage quell despair !

Life is about experiences...both good and bad. Life is about spiritual growth which comes from these experiences...and it is only when we learn from them in the truest of sense, that we actually move on to the next life lesson.

Live each day. Enjoy each precious moment. And during difficult times remember..."this too shall pass".

Life is passing the time from birth to death.

Life is being aware of yourself enough to realize that existence isn't all it's cracked up to be. Then again, since it isn't possible for us to imagine complete nothingness, we can't really ever know if awareness is better than being completely oblivious/non-existant.
