We have a cental ac unit that is on a concrete pad outside the house. I live in NE Florida and right now the unit runs pretty much all the time. I noticed alot of standing water accumulating around the unit, I would think some water would be normal but not this much.

It's normal. Especially in a place like Florida; all that humidity. This is water that is condensing from the coolant that is being pumped out to the cooling unit inside the house.

The water is the moisture removed from the air inside the house. This is normal especially in North Florida. What we did was put a drain board, like that under a gutter-downspout, at the drain outlet for the A/C. and moved the water a few feet from the house.

The primary job of a air conditioner is to remove the moisture from the conditioned space.

The secondary job is to lower the temperature in the conditioned space.

It take much less to cool you when the air is dry.
