NO.
That is a choice we each make. Where can this responsibility come from? There is no outside force to put responsibility on us, we take it on our own shoulders, or we don't.
Personally, I do believe that it is best to do things that enhance life rather than things that destroy or impoverish it. I think that it is in my own interest to do this, it gives satisfaction, immediately, and in the thought of the benefit to others.
The pleasure we get from creative acts is perhaps the greatest we can have.

I always thought yes, but now that you mention it we didn't ask to be born..I guess if you believe in a higher power, then you must believe we were born for a reason and your answer would be yes, but if on the other hand you do not believe in a higher power and believe in say the big bang theory, then you would think that we are all accidents of nature, in which case you wouldn't have a responsibility to life. Each persons beliefs and conscious are different. very thought provoking question though.

Simply being alive is "existing". This is passive. "Living" is active. Yes theres responsibility to life here! We're here for a higher purpose than you probably realize.

I don't believe it does. We have the responsibility to live, as does every living thing, but not a responsibility to life.

Our only responsibility concerning life is that we continue our own by passing on our genes. If we have to end other life between being born and passing on our genes, that is the way it must be.

No... Responsibility is something that you acquire SOMETIME in your life and it depends unto you if would like to embrace it or not. Simply, it depends upon your free will to take such responsibilites. Responsibility is something YOU place upon by yourself...

It much more important that that. Life is a GIFT and we need to treat it with respect and dignity, love and honor. Those lives that "we consider of lesser value" such as animals need to be treated with kindness and respect. Treated much like we would want someone GREATER than us to treat us, with kindness, love and affection, and not kick and step all over us.
