I wouldn't consider a salary to be rich. Wealth is more accurately measured by one's net worth, and if I'm being sentimental by one's happiness and well-being. To illustrate, a person may make 40,000 a year and live very well, with high net worth. A person could also make 100,000 per year and have massive debts and along with this a negative net worth. Additionally many will tell you that your overall satisfaction with life is true indicator of wealth, but I suspect this is not the answer you seek.

Salary does not make you rich. You may live in a high cost area and have very little left over each month.

To measure rich you should look at Net Wealth (your assets minus your liabilities)

I think people with more than $1,000,000 in Net Wealth would be considered rich.

no salary is rich in my book really got to be in top 1 or 2 or maybe 3 percent income bracket to be rich, i think. also depends on your monthly nut yearly nut in relation to bankroll - gotta be big enough bankroll to play the size game your'e playing is one way to look at it. all i know is that right now i am painfully far from being rich again and ouch it hurts me. whahhhhh. wahhhhhhhhh. wahhhhhhhh. somebody find me a hedge fund manager to assist again please --- oh woops - off track - everything is relative somewhat depending on a lot of things ... ??

That's a good question. But, it depends on where you live and how you live. I know folks poor as church mice who make $150,000 a year and some who live quite well on $50,000. If you don't spend it, you don't have to earn (or borrow) it.
