60 words, 1 comma, no full stops, 1 capital.

Maybe Americans invented punctuation and grammar, because your country apparently hasnt heard of it.

Well americans have invented more important things in the last 100 years than other countries have. The phone and the internet aren't near as important as some of the American inventions like airplanes, and the polio vaccine.

BTW the first computer (personal) wasnt british, it was the Altair Computer invented in 1975, in guess where...America

The most famous inventors in the world were American like George Washington Carver and Thomas Edison. Just because Edison didnt invent the incandescent light bulb doesn't mean he's not responsible for the impact it had. Someone had to apply the technology, which obviously Swan wasn't doing.
And don't forget Brits do have a couple hundred year advantage on Americans as Britain was inhabited by people way before America.

Most importantly a great deal of the latest inventions, especially in medicine have been in America. Anyone remember the first animal cloned, the artificial heart, and thousands of medicines?

To the "Thinker" yes you did strike a nerve, because Americans have pride. Your just jealous because we are the biggest world power, and you're not. It's not about who invents technology its about who uses it the best. Just like the Roman empire who took many inventions from Greece.

Well, the Internet - Yes, US Department of Defense did that. The telephone - Yes also - fellow named Bell. But everything - no, not everyting. More than most, better than most, yes - but not all. Is it surprising that the US, with a larger population than any developed country, would invent/develop/produce more than any other country? Compare US to UK - if all else is equal, the US will invent 5X of what the UK does. That does not belittle UK actions - just that 300 million vs 60 million means the big guy scores more often.

The phone was invented by a bloke in Cuba, while he was trying to cure his wife's health problems. Bell only got the patent by fiddeling with the patent application.

The idea of the internet was dreamed up by Alan Turin. Oh, by the way, the first computer, the first electronic programable computer and the first computer programer were all british - al of which had to be invented before someone wired up the internet.

The americans invented the plane did they? Odd, John Stringfellow (Chard, UK - again) had a plane flying in the 1850s. Admittedly, it was only a model (if you count something 8 foot long as a "model"), but it was a heavier than air, self propelled, climbing aircraft. Do i also need to point out that the aircraft carried was also a british invention?

The one peice, sealed, incandesent lightbulb was invented by Swan, 6 months before Edison. Edison bought Swan out.

Oh, one more thing. 60% of all the worlds patents were/are granted in the UK, leaving 40% to be squabbled over by the rest of the world.

We think we invented/developed everything, because we forget that some of our citizens came from other countries and that the greeks and earlier civilizations already had similar inventions.

And, some of what we invented/developed was simply an improvement on the product such as Bell improving the phone. I was never taught that Bell invented it, simply that he improved it.

it really is growing a international huge problem. And sorry, dude, the cyber web became invented right here in the sturdy old united states. No body with any coaching might want to dispute that. even with the undeniable fact that the international huge cyber web (easily a subset of the cyber web) became fairly a lot invented in Europe. human beings in glass houses shouldn't forged stones.

Well, at least we learned to spell and use proper grammar.

I don't know where you got that idea from, pal.

Considering Thomas Edison was one of the greatest modern inventors, I disagree.

FYI, if you want to criticize an entire Nation and its people, use proper grammar or you will have no credibility.
