Talk about retards, you made a statement and put a question mark on the end of it.

The lottery is indeed a tax. But it is a tax on poor people, and some ignorant people. Neither of these conditions qualifies someone to be called a "retard".

It is also a form of entertainment that many of us don't mind throwing a few buck away to have.

I hope you don't ever have a retarded child, or an injury that affects your brain even though it would be poetic justice.

I call it the voluntary state tax, or here in Maryland, I say I feel like contributing to a new stadium or arena, since that's where the money goes.

To my way of thinking, there are three good reasons to play the lottery.

1) That way they will notinvent a new tax to pay for the things they fund from these monies.

2) I choose to pay that money when it is convenient for me, as opposed ot all the other taxes that suck the life out of every check, bill, and transaction I do.

3) There is an infinitesimally small chance I might get more for my money than I put in. However, those are still better odds than I get from all the other tax money, so what the heck!
