I live in a big city that is very diverse. Everyday I see these Indian women that look like their dressed for winter. They are covered with thick clothing from head to toe. They have beads of sweat all over their face, making them appear to glow. I know that it is their culture, but this is Texas where it is like 100 degrees everyday. Really, they can wear appropriate clothing for the weather without compromising their culture if they really wanted.

i see ur point, but is their culture n they will follow tradition , depends on wht state they are from, many indians here, dress comfotably in a regular sari, never seen any indian or muslim all covered up like that, n thas cause i live by the southern coastal texas area....diff people in diff indian states have their own dress customs, thers also indian muslims, maybe u mean them, at leats they are not in burkhas liek the afghan woman, poor woman, i feel sorry for them, walking around like ghosts, seriously though, thats wht they llook like and wht there lives are like, no one seems thre real self, all thse because the inside beauty is wht should be seen n whtever is bull, but again is their culture, n even if i think is a shame, well what can we do...i wouldnt want anyoen to dictate how i dress, from a diff culture or country, is bad enough your own gov tells u something even though is not in their religion laws...

Now you really mean Indian women in TEXAS, not America. The fact is they wear what they choose to wear based on their religion and culture, so who are we to say they shouldn't. Don't let it upset you because it is their choice.

Like you said it is their culture. Its their decision to wear what they want. I would not be bothered by this just because they are different. It is somthing that they are used to.

Nuns and preachers do that stuff as well. I guess their gods tells them they have to dress for religion not for confront.
