You can be in love at age 17. He is only 3 years older than you so there is not that great an age difference, and the older you get, the less that age difference will matter. Some people find love earlier than others.

As to it being illegal, it depends on the area and the legal age of consent, for you to be sexually active. In most areas, the age of consent is 16, but check in your area.

I met my wife when she was younger than you, married her when she was 18. We have been married over 25 years.

Sometimes things work out!!

Where I live both people must be of 16 years of age, with parents permission to marry. Otherwise its 18. Love knows no bounds, and yes this means age. Maybe you should wait a year or two. Also it would be logical to wait until it is legal to have sex, otherwise he could be put down for rape.

Wait why am I talking about marridge? I must have read this question wrong lol

Yes, you can be in love at 17 (this coming from a middle-age person).

As for the legality, I think it depends on what state you're in...I think the cut-off age is usually 16.

Love isn't illegal, but having sex with you at that age would be.

You can be in love at 17, but you're not mature enough to fully understand that concept until many years down the road, so it's a growth process.

No. The age of consent in MOST states is 16. And yes it is very possible to be in love.

falling in love is not illegal, and when it comes to matters that affect who and what you can and will become later in life you need to look beyond legal matters but how it affects your sound mind, psychology and emotional composure... i think its alright to fall in love at your age but do not get physical at this age as its outcome determines a lot for now... and much more for later... good luck and take good care of yourself..

It is in some states, check with the statutes. If you're in love, you will know it, but here's some advice. You're young, explore your possibilities, and don't settle for the first person that comes along.
