Yes , u can as DSL provides you the opportunity to use your telephone line with the dsl connection, and that line can be used for any reason , fax / voice and dial-up , but you wont be able to terminate it on the same PC with the DSL connection.

Yes you can. DSL allows the phone line to be used while providing internet service. You can use the phone line for voice, or data. Many business use the FAX line (another data use) for the DSL service because it is easier to install filtering on that line!!

Reasons to want to use a dial up on a DSL line can include desire for privacy. Someone may want to check their personal e mail, or search for another job, while on lunch, and so not want the current employer to be able to see what they are doing. (as they can on a work network) With dial up on a personal laptop, they can do this!!
