What is it that 'Matt Cooper' says when he is examining the remains of the first shark victim? He's raising up the arm and says, "...this is what happens..." but you can tell something has been edited out. It's even been edited out on my VHS tape of Jaws.

Oops! I mean 'Matt Hooper'.

All I have on my DVD is, "This is what happens... (pause)... indicates the non-frenzied feeding of a large squallus, possibly (Anjoumanus) or (Ausuris Glockis)....

I'd never really noticed that pause in the dialogue before, or how inappropriately Hooper says "This is what happens", seems obvious SOMETHING else was said and blanked out, but they kept the shot because it shows the chewed up arm. Man thats some careful viewing you did. Good job!

My best guess is that when he says "...this is what happens..." he means that's what happens when a shark attacks. I don't think it is a cut scene because I have the DVD with deleted scenes and that scene isn't extended in the DVD and there's nothing about it in the deleted scenes section.

I will check it out for you, friend. It'll have to wait until I get home. I'm on a break at work...computer won't let me see certain sites. Damn. I'll take a wee guess..."This is whar happens when a large carnivorus fish goes out looking for a meal."
