Notice how there is no middle ground in this debate. If the American public wants to get rid of legal abortion, it will require a constitutional amendment allowing states to make their own choices. Then it will be a right for those wealthy enough to go to the states that permit it.

I do not agree with abortion except when the life of the mother is in jeapordy. It has been used as an alternative means of birth control and lack of accountability. But, I do not believe it will ever become illegal. There will always be abortions, whether in a clinic or in the back alleys. It iwll most likely become more highly regulated but thats as far as close as it will come.

The right to an abortion is protected my law. This law has been upheld by The Supreme Court of The United States.

A law to prohibit abortion must be passed by Congress, and signed by The President. This is unlikely, as the majority of US citizens support the right of a woman to choose,

Just because you make something illegal it doesn't mean that people will stop doing it. People will still have abortions, although they'll be done by people who don't really know what they're doing, then both the mother and the foetus will die, isn't that a worse thing? Of course if you don't like the rules then LEAVE THE COUNTRY (oh it feels so good to say that to a conservative :D)

I think we are on the way, it is taking getting too many liberals off of the supreme court.

But it was not always illegal, it was just that each state had the right to make thier own law. And that is what it needs to go back to.

Sorry I would like to see no abortion, and I beleive we can beat it on vote at state level, but it just is not and enver should have been a federal issue

This should be illegal. Im not sure what it will take to make every state ban this though. Abortion is not a form of birth control. You make a decision, you live with the results. If you can not live with the results then save it. Also dont blame the guys for getting pregenant, it takes two remember! If this happens blame yourself, it was your decision! The only exeption to this should be rape victims.

every male should have a vasectomy at birth and poof problem gone and if they decide to have children in the future then reverse the procedure. other than that just by education are you going to lower abortion its An American right whether you like it or not. not to mention there are alot of children that if abortion was to become illegal would be born to parents that didnt want them "sad" and Us as a country would pay the price.welfare detention centers prisone jails the majority of unwanted children would end up there."sorry to say that and lump them all together but the trend has already been proven" i dont beleive in abortion and i would never allow it ."so I got a vasectomy" but i beleive if there is a pregnate woman who does not want to have a child she shouldnt. as a matter of fact they should set up free clinics for the procedure.better than having a child brought into this world unwanted and having no guidance. there are to many "parents" that arnt they were just donors or carriers.By the way so people dont think im bias i dont like children and its usually the ****** up parents fault they are who they are.

I frankly don't think this will ever occur, short of a Taliban-style takeover of the US. When it was illegal in the past, it was because of issues involving women's health--inducing abortions tended to produce dead females, which was not in the public good. (Legally, abortion was not chargeable or sentenceable as comparable to murder at any time in the US, to the best of my knowledge. Would welcome any historical citations proving otherwise.)

The will of the majority of people.
People who will lobby their elected representatives to change the law.
And of course, that can happen at election by electing anti abortion representatives.
