A common betta (pronounced bet-tah, not bay-tah) has long flowing colorful fins if it is a male and short stubby drab fins if it is a female.
It is not possible for bettas and goldfish to produce offspring, so what you have is not really a "mix" of goldfish and betta. They are two totally different species that spawn in completely different ways. Also, goldfish are coldwater fish and spawn in 60-65 degree water where bettas are tropical and spawn in 76-80 degree water.
There are species of bettas where both male and female have short fins, but these are not readily obtainable in pet stores. They are usually used for fighting in southeast Asia.
Beta is the second letter of the Greek alphabet and is pronounced bay-tah.

No, beta fish do not shed epidermis..men are more effective and are very colourful, they have more effective fins and tails..also they're very aggressive and develop into brighter even as they sense threatened..they could blow up their faces so that they offer the effect of being like little balloons even as they're on the attack..women are small, are available hues yet are very ordinary searching..they don't have the plumage that men have and tails are right now and small..in the journey that your beta is shedding it may be tail rot or a disease stated as ick..both diseases will eat away on the gills and make the mouth appear as if this is rotting..Ick will make the finss look to sluff off and they receives little tiny white dots all around the body..maximum shops carry treatments for both..

a mix of a goldfish and a beta , hmmmm? You sure you don't have a little koy??? a beta is coloured and has long fins and get aggressive if you stick a mirror in front of his face. A beta female is not as big and pretty and her fins are smaller. She is more on the sleepy side.

Well does it complain alot, if so it is probably a female. NO I am just kidding, in the domesticated Betta the males fins re much longer, and the amle fish tends to be more colorful.

If you bought your betta just reflect and think how it was when you bought it. Was it in a small plastic container all alone? If so it is a male betta because betta are Chinese fighting fish and two males usually fight and kill each other their fore they need to be separated.
If you bought it and it was in an aquarium and you took it home in a bag it is a female because two females wont fight like the male bettas.
