There is no perfect amount of time to wait before trying to conceive again, but many healthcare providers encourage woman to wait at least a few months to strengthen the chance of a healthy pregnancy. If a woman's body isn't ready to support a pregnancy by the time that she conceives again, she faces an increased risk of experiencing a repeat miscarriage. It takes time for the uterus to recover and for the endometrial lining to become strong and healthy again.
Medically, it is safe to conceive after two or three normal menstrual periods if tests or treatments for the cause of the miscarriage are not being done. Some physicians routinely recommend that couples wait six months to a year before attempting another pregnancy in order to come to terms with their loss, whereas other physicians feel there is no compelling reason to wait so long.

You should wait at least 3 menstrual cycles before you try to get pregnant again. I miscarried at 12 weeks also and I had to have a DNC also. Sorry about your lost. The longer you wait, the better your chances are of NOT miscarrying again. Now I'm almost 40 weeks pregnant and my miscarriage wsa 3 years ago. I'm expecting a baby boy on this Thursday, Aug. 24th and I'm so excited.

Wow that is very close together the doctor should have adviced you that it is not very healthy for you or the baby to get prego so soon. I too miscarried @ 12 wks and they told me to wait 3-6 mths because your body needs time to heal like if you have given birth. Also getting pregnant so soon after puts you at high risk of having the next child prematurely. So if you are then take it XTRA safe. If not then I would say to try to wait for a couple of mths. Goodluck and sorry for your loss.

Well I don't want to be a downer but it could be 100% safe but there is a chance it couldn't be. I was in a similar situation and I m/c my 2nd baby because my uterus wasn't strong enough. But on the other hand I know of a number of people (well on message boards) that have gone through the same thing and went on to have perfectly healthy babies. My advice to you is to take it easy and if you are pregnant have your Dr keep a close eye on you... and if you aren't I would wait a month or 2 before trying again just to give your uterus a chance to get stronger

Dont worry, the body is fertile again 4 weeks after a baby is born for a reason. It repears itself well
Your early pregnancy loss and D&C although sad shouldnt impact on the pregnancy.
See your doc early for a scan
have regular checks
look after yourself
If this pregnancy wants to stay it will no matter what
Good luck

it's safe because the same thing happened to me, I had a miscarriage and then about a month and a half later I found out that I was pregnant again and I ended up having a beautiful healthy baby boy so don't let it stress u out because you really don't need to get stressed out if you are pregnant because its not
good on an unborn child. so I hope that I have helped you and I wish you all the luck in the world.

I am sure the doctor must have told you to wait 3-12 months, now you may risk another miscarriage because you did not give your body time to heal.
Sorry for your loss.

are you sure you are pregnant? pregnancy tests can register positive for up to 8 weeks after a miscarriage, because of hormones lingering in your system.
however, if you *are* pregnant, you do have a decent chance of having a healthy baby... just see your doctor soon for help and advice!
