me! I mean of course I'd like to have a decent amount of money, and I would not want to marry a hobo, but I'd rather have security in someone who loves me and would stand by me no matter what our financial situation was.

I do...for all the right reasons too! I am a little older and can say from past experiences it is amazing when you really do find the RIGHT person to share your life with....notice I said share, that's an important part. Everyone grows and matures ongoing through life experiences and it is important to mesh with someone cuz at different points you will both grow and you want to make sure you don't grow apart...that is the key to a successful relationship...from my prior knowledge!!! If it is an ultimate love that is shared on both behalves you have a better chance of making it through anything together! Good luck!

No. All recent marriages that I know of married for their love of one another. Some were young couples just starting out; they have very little money. I also know of an older couple that married for companionship, both on soc. sec. and very little money between the two. It's takes all kinds of people to make a world, but it also takes true love to make a relationship work, whether they are married or not....~p~

my goodness, what a cynic !!!!most people marry for companionship, and bcause being alone all the time tends to wear on ones nerves.also,it helps when u get older-think of it,if your back goes out really badly, who will empty the kitty litter box,or dump the trash bin,etc.-u then have to phone up ur friends 2 help u do all that, and blieve me,they dont want to do it !!!! none of my friends married men with money, and we are all so much happier now.work, followed by 6 hours of telly a night just wasnt cutting it-when i met my best friend,i realised he was my husband---and the rest is history !!!!!

Are you looking for justification or release of pain through passing some around… venting through spitefulness past experience of hurt, sadness, etc?... Maybe all that has happened in you asking is a pain shared is a pain halved… but remember a joy shared is a joy doubled.

Me. My wife and I just got married yesterday. The reasons we got married weren't for money, or material possessions for that matter. We respect each other, we have a deep love for one another, and we complete each other. That's why you get married. Not for material things.

Most of the women I know want to get married so they can have babies - lots and lots of babies. I don't want babies, and I don't need someone who has money, so I fell in love with someone who has no money and no desire for more children (his are grown). I wouldn't change anything about him.

My boyfriend and I decided we wanted to marry, and in almost the same breath we decided to wait until we were financially secure. So, if anything, it was the desire for marriage that lead us to the desire of money.
