Good thing it didn't catch on fire and burn the house down. Why would anyone put something on a light bulb?
Anyways, I doubt anything will work as it is burnt not stained. You might try to wash it and see how much of that burned area comes off and then use some kind of white touch up paint (even white out) and dab it over the burn mark. If it isn't really bad this may work.

Nooooo, sorry because the fiber is actually distroyed. It's not like a stain that colors the fiber or causes a reaction in the fiber.
Before, when I responded, it was not stated what the item was. Now that I know it's a hat, here's my thought: if it didn't burn deeply into the fabric, you might just try a fine grit sandpaper and gently rub the mark. This could take off some of the burned fiber, especially if it is a cotton or felt hat. Rub gently, because you don't want to make a hole in the fabric. Good luck!

No, the only thing you could do is cut out the spot and replace it which really isn't something most people would do with a hat. If you could put a patch or something over the spot, well, that would work.

Burns damage the material of whatever it is that was burned. There really is no way to fully repair it. Dying it may help but you fix some of the color difference but you will still be able to see where the damage occured.

highly unlikely. burnt is...well...burnt :-/ if it's just a burn mark and didn't go all the way through the fabric, then you can try and bleach the mark out (which isn't cool if it's not white fabric). otherwise, it's more likely that a burn mark is hard and has gone through the fabric. only thing i can suggest is cutting it out (then say it's the new style), buy a patch (then say it's the new style) or go shopping (then say it's the new style :)

Lucky it was white and I agree with others, lucky it didn't catch fire. White cotton hats can be painted with shoe polish, white of course. LOL
Good luck and buy your guy a hat rack.

i would try lemon juice on the stain and set it in the sun. sometimes you can bleach out the stain that way. white vinegar works on scorching from ironing, you might try that, it's kinda the same thing.
