I have had all kinds of pets & have always made a huge deal out of their birthday's. I have had partie's for them & took them out to eat to McDondald's. One pet I rescued I celebrated his birthday on the date I got him & kept it marked on the calender from year to year.
Also Christmas, they would have their own doggie or cat tree. A small tree with all dog or cat ornaments.

It doesn't matter and it is good you rescued them. I know my dog and cats birthday so I give them some especial treats to celebrate their day but it is not like they know the difference between when is or isn't their birthday!!

My husband and I adopted two dogs from our local shelters. We were told that they were each 3 months old at the time we adopted them. I just took 3 months away from the date that we got them and that is the date we celebrate as their birthday. One of our dog's birthday is March 9th and the other is May 6th.
We buy our dogs gifts and they get a cupcake with no frosting on it on their day.

If you can remember the day you rescued them then that would could be your pets birthday. This is the day you gave them a new life. Mark it down on your calendar so you won't forget.

Not really. When I got my cat through adoption of a friend/neighbor at the time, we really didn't know her birthday. So we've used the date we've gotten her for her birthday. Her 9th birthday is coming up this September, (she was 5 when I got her). We just say happy birthday, give her extra treats, and lots of love. The same when I had my dog long time ago. We've gotten him through adoption. The day we got him was his birthday until he died.

You aren't confusing them! They don't know what you're doing...they just understand they are getting extra attention.
I do the same thing with my two dogs. I bought one and rescued the other...luckily they knew the date of birth of my rescue.

particular I do. in case you rejoice pets birthday, it skill you're giving them particular love. Pets are so loving via fact they love us innocently and greater beneficial than all and sundry individual. And for sooner or later, that's on birthday, if we rejoice, it skill we are expressing our like to puppy and easily for the puppy in basic terms. you could sense its glittering eyes, happiness. you could sense the God interior you, is chuffed too.
