It feels like neither, kind of - but I'm striving for the former.

People might as well use their life energy in ways that are good in hopes of making the world better. As a consumer and a breeder, I've also found ways to make life better for others.

I don't think so. The world is a pretty big place. However, I've done my best to make a difference for one or two people. Not much of a consumer, apart from the usual amount of food, and a pretty average breeder.
But think on.
I had 3 kids. They have between them had 6 kids ie an average of 2 each. If their kids each have 2 kids by the time they are 30, then in 2040 that will be 12; in 2070, 24; in 2100, 48; in 2130, 96; in 2160, 192; .... Well, I reckon that I could have 20 milion descendants in a few centuries.

What's wrong with being a consumer and a breeder? Some people aren't blessed (or cursed :) with the ability to look at the larger picture. So, though I always try to make the world a better place every day - even if it's just my little corner - I don't begrudge those who just want a happy family life. It is the most basic of human urges after food, shelter and safety is achieved and I believe it should be honored.

I've produced, consumed, and bred. And my life energy is involved in all of that. I believe that I am participating in changing the world for the better, in a small way, by the choices I make, as best I can.

I've done my fair share of consuming and breeding, and I'm a very small fish in a very big pond, but I refuse to give up the fight for justice and human rights. Once we've got that right, we can start tackling the environmental problems on a global scale.
By the way, if people who breed are so low in your estimation, (just a breeder) then we might as well all give up right now.

Being a consumer benefits peoples lives doesn't it? and having children, or being a breeder as you so eloquently put it, keeps the World going! What has your life energy done? And how did you purchase your computer?

I created one life. That changed the world. I made a stranger smile. That changed the world. I recycled my bottles. That changed the world. I've counseld numerous people. That changed the world. Do you see where I'm going? One small act can change the world.

Every action has an opposite and equal reaction.

Most people can't really change the world - but everybody can and should make a positive difference in their little corner of it!

If a person aims to change the world, he probably has suspect motives. No one is JUST anything - we all have multiple roles.
