Hurt, upset, take it personally, have to fight to not be effected by it... Why would some one be this sensitive?

Because they are self absorbed, they can't help it, it is a personality defect. They self internalize everything to relate to themselves without ever considering that things happen that have NOTHING to do with them ex: someone walks by, doesn't say hi, they obsess over it, wondering why they didn't say hi, where as someone who is not so self absorbed would think" Gee, they have a lot on their mind, they didn't see me" , or something like that

Me? No. I spend a fair amount of time in my oblivious little fog, so I'm probably the one not acknowledging someone.

Some people just take everything very seriously and very personally. They either learn to get over, or spend their whole lives thinking that they're being ignored. Chances are the person they think is ignoring them is lost in thought and didn't even realize they spoke.

Yeah. Especially it was my crush back in school. I said hi to him and he didn't say hi back and it does hurt.

If I say hello first I tend to be upset if they ignore me. But if I didn't say anything first, I don't mind.

Did they ignore you on purpose?

Yes, especially if it's my crush.
