Can you approach her with this news and she still be civil? If so, then you two need to sit down and discuss the details. This way you can buy her out if so desired. At least there are no children involved. If not, then file the paperwork, shell be served within 3 days and you could take your chances in court and let the judge decide the fate of your possessions. The civil way would be best, cheaper, and the judges love it. Of course, you will have to compromise on somethings to achieve what you want, right down to how you would pay her if she elects a buyout. Divorces are never easy and its hard to tell you which way to go since I dont know you or your wife, but hope this helps. Good luck

You been married for 25yrs. and you want a divorce? That is an awful lot of years just to throw away. I suggest you really think about this and maybe even talk to a counselor. Just because your children are grown does not mean it does not hurt them.My parents were married for 30 years. It hurt me deeply. If you must do this i guess you just need to go talk to a lawyer and let him start the paper work. In Arkansas you have to be separated for 6 months before you can get a divorce.Your state may have the same rule.

You should go to a lawyer first. Detail all of of your joint assets (defined as anything you might have aquired during your marriage...pensions are included) and show it to the lawyer. The lawyer will then be able to tell you just how bad you can get slammed in court.

The way her lawyer will present it in court will be that you have abandoned your wife after 25 years of faithful service in a fit of "male menopause". Your lawyer will try and counter that. Then depending on which judge you get (the judge is the wild card) judgement will be rendered.

When you get into court just remember that the judge will ask you one important question, "Do you have a penus"? If you make any North to South movement with your head then it will be all your fault! THIS IS NOT A JOKE. Ask any man who's been to divorce court.

First u need 2 talk 2 a atty! Then he/she will give options that pertain 2 ur situation. Depending on how ur situation goes as 2 who has 2 move out and so 4th. Since u want the divorce, why don't u man up and handle yo business!

get the papers in order before you approach her. be a gentleman. sit her down and talk this through well. try to keep things as amicable as possible.

do you have similar salaries? if so, offer her half of everything. if she makes more, still offer half. if she makes less, offer half plus the house.

if you start off being generous, chances are that she won't be vindictive and want everything.

if she is vindictive, spend extra to get a really good lawyer.
